New ISR (Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) mission done off western Libya coast this afternoon by an US Navy Lockheed EP-3E “Aries II” (156511) departed from Souda Bay AB, Crete.

We’ve more data to say where exactly the Aries is making its mission. Note that yesterday we’ve tracked the same mission in the same area.

The Lockheed EP-3 is the signals reconnaissance version of the P-3 Orion, operated by the United States Navy. The aircraft is known by the acronym ARIES, or “Airborne Reconnaissance Integrated Electronic System” .
