Very busy day in the sky off Libya today. While a French mission was in progress over central Mediterranean Sea an Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767A (MM62226) is departed this morning, around 11AM local time from Pratica di Mare AB, followed by an ItAF Gulfstream G.550 CAEW ( MM62293 ).

In this picture you can see the last position tracked of the G.550, around Pantelleria.

The Boeing KC-767A continues flight southbound (but also the CAEW probably).

In this position we lost contact also with the tanker

We don’t know if the KC-767A was escorted by fighters but in the last missions it flew with some F-35s departed from Amendola or Typhoons from Trapani.
The mission is finished around 3:30PM.

I am fond of Italian Air Force
