French mission off Libya

This morning we’ve tracked from Istres AB, southern France, to Strait of Sicily, off Tripoli, a French Air Force Boeing C-135FR ” Stratotanker “ (738). The aircraft followed the usual route used by French tankers in flight to Libya.

After the position that you can see in the picture the aircraft disappeared from all tracking sites.

The mission is now (12:00 local time) still in progress. We don’t know if the Stratotanker is alone but we can suppose that in the area there are probably other French aircraft. We can, however, suppose that the aircraft is making an aerial refueling mission supporting French aircraft in the area off Tripoli.
